CINE 344 : Film Noir

Prerequisites: Upper division standing; cinema major/minor; completion of CINE 200, CINE 202, CINE 204, CINE 211, and CINE 212 (or equivalents) with grades of C or better; or consent of instructor.
Description: Study of films, directors, and genres that emerged in American cinema to constitute the classical period of film noir (1945-55), and the historical and political forces that determined this pronounceable pessimistic tendency and style.
