METR 302 : Extreme Weather in a Warming World

Prerequisites: Upper division standing or consent of instructor.
Description: Atmosphere and ocean as agents of catastrophic change. Fluctuations in atmospheric and oceanic circulations and their environmental impacts. Implications of human modification of the ocean-atmosphere system. Weather variability as evidenced by recent floods, droughts, and severe weather. Designed for non-science majors. [GE]
