PHYS 725 : Special and General Relativity

Prerequisites: Graduate standing; PHYS 701 (may be taken concurrently); PHYS 785 recommended.
Description: Tensor formulation of special relativity with astrophysical applications. Riemannian geometry. The Einstein field equations applied to Mercury's orbit, black holes, gravitational lensing, cosmology, and interstellar travel. Computer visualizations of spacetimes and orbits.
