WGS 593 : Gender, Health, and the Environment

Prerequisites: ENG 214 or equivalent.
Description: Emergence of "western medicine" as primary paradigm, and the consequences of socio-political formations to women's health. Emergence of "holistic" treatments, "traditional" medicine from indigenous and pre-colonial perspectives, and oppositional health practices emerging from environmental movements.
