WGS 516 : Gender and Visual Culture

Prerequisites: English 214 or equivalent.
Description: Using an interdisciplinary/transnational perspective, this course will examine how gender is understood through visual registers and how visual culture depends upon ideas about gender. Key authors, concepts and methodologies in the field of visual studies will be covered.
