MUS 431 : Jazz Improvisation I

Prerequisites: MUS 270 with a grade of C or better.
Description: Study and application of jazz improvisation concepts utilizing extended harmonic approaches, quartalism, linear chromaticism, and advanced cross-rhythm sensibility. Structures used are primarily the blues and standard tunes. May be repeated for a total of 4 units.
