I R 520 : Globalization and Development

Prerequisites: Upper division standing; ENG 214 or equivalent.
Description: Explores origins of poverty in Africa, Latin America, Asia; successes and failures of development policies and aid, technology, industrialization, trade trends and controversies, inequality, impacts of globalization, international agencies, NGOs, social movements for justice and sustainability.
