ENG 758 : Seminar: Southern African Literature in English

Prerequisites: Pre- or co-requisite: ENG 741 or consent of instructor.
Description: Study of Southern African literature in English from 1950 to the present with accompanying historical and theoretical texts. Writers from South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Botswana include Mphalele, Gordimer, Coetzee, Head, Ndebele, Marechera. Emphasis on "postcolonial" issues and dismantling of apartheid.
