ENG 751 : 16th Century Lyric and Comedy

Prerequisites: Pre- or co-requisite: ENG 741 or consent of instructor
Description: Renaissance lyric and comedy in relation to Renaissance theories of love: the courtly, neoplatonic, Christian traditions of love as formative principles in the poetry of Sidney and Spenser, Jonson and Donne; and in selected comedies of Shakespeare and contemporaries.
