ANTH 588 : Anthropology and Human Rights

Prerequisites: ENG 214 and upper division standing.
Description: Globalization of human rights in the post-war era from an anthropological perspective. Cultural imperialism and political economy as ways to consider how human rights are constituted; transnational discourse and a field of action. Paired with ANTH 788. Students who complete ANTH 588 may not take ANTH 788 for credit. Classwork, 2 units; field work, 2 units.
