SOC 500 : Adolescence: Social Inequality and Self

Prerequisites: Completion of GE Segment I requirements including ENG 214 or equivalent, upper division standing, SOC 300, SOC 370 or 371, and SOC 392.
Description: Explores young people's development of self while negotiating, maintaining, and challenging social inequalities. Takes specifically social constructionist approach and explores adolescence as site of social inequalities and change. Special effort to study words, images, and analyses offered by young people. (Plus-minus letter grade only.)
