HIST 644 : Proseminar: Journeys to the New World: Discovery, Exploration, and Science

Prerequisites: HIST 300, upper division standing, and consent of instructor.
Description: Seminar on writing about Latin America by discoverers, scientists, and other travelers from 1492 to the 20th century. Emphasis on the diverse and evolving images of the New World, and the historical contexts of changing ways of perceiving Latin America.
