ETHS 657 : South Asian Diaspora

Prerequisites: Upper division standing or consent of instructor.
Description: Examination of South Asian emigration and Diaspora. Focus on how immigrants and their children construct identities and communities. Compares how colonialism, nationalism, race, gender, sexuality and class have shaped their experiences in different locations. (Cross listed with AAS 541 [formerly AAS 657]. May not be repeated under an alternate prefix.)
