| Description: | Translation and analysis of archaic epic, with a focus on Homer's Odyssey and Hesiod's Theogony. Discussion of formal features, such as meter and dialect, and social and performative context. Paired with GRE 741. Students who have completed GRE 441 may not take GRE 741 for credit. |
