The first half of a year-long integrated reading-writing course that meets ENG 114 learning outcomes, offering opportunities to write approximately 8,000 words. Successful
completion with grade of C- or better is required to advance to ENG 105. Successful completion of both 104 and 105 meets the university's first-year composition
requirement. Students who receive NC in ENG 104 must complete ENG 104 successfully the following term and then take ENG 105. Students who do not successfully complete both 104 and 105 within one year from the time of admission will be subject to disenrollment
from the university. Class work, 3 units; laboratory, 1 unit.
