ETHS 530 : Cultural Studies and Ethnic Studies

Prerequisites: upper division standing or consent of instructor.
Description: Examines ways cultural studies applies interdisciplinary methods to understand race/ethnicity in various national and transnational contexts and in relation to gender, sexuality and class; focus on how racial/ethnic identity and formation is constituted and negotiated through practices of cultural representation. (Paired with ETHS 830. Students who have completed ETHS 530 may not take ETHS 830 for credit.)
