CHIN 826 : Semantics and Morphology

Prerequisites: CHIN 401 or admission to Chinese program.
Description: Introduction to linguistic meaning and word formation in Chinese. Chinese semantics, pragmatics, morphology in light of recent findings in cognitive science. Topics include semiotics, categorization, linguistic relativity, semantic primes, morphological processes, image schemas, metaphor.
