ETHS 440 : Islam in America: Communities and Institutions

Prerequisites: upper division standing or consent of instructor.
Description: Examination of the Muslim American ethnic-religious communities and institutions nationally, regionally, and locally with special focus on the three largest Muslim communities among African Americans, Indo-Pakistani, and Arab Americans. Important sub-groups emerging since the 1990s also are featured.
