MUS 532 : Musics of Central and South America

Prerequisites: upper division standing or consent of instructor.
Description: Musical cultures of Mexico, Venezuela, Peru, Brazil, Argentina, etc. Colonial/classical music, folk, popular, Indian, rural, and urban styles. Instruments and their function, live performances. Students may substitute this course for MUS 520 as preparation for MUS 598.
