JAPN 600 : Effects of Zen

Prerequisites: None
Description: Study of the influence of Zen on Japanese culture in literature, arts, thoughts, and lifestyle. Examination of the relationships between role of nature and self identity; idealism in void; and fatalism, Shinto, and Zen in Japanese life. Taught in English.
