Utilities Extension Project

Week of June 6, 2011:

Work is continuing in the following areas:


• Lot 41. Drivers on Font Blvd. between Arballo Drive and Lake Merced Blvd. and in the north bound lanes of Lake Merced Blvd. between Higuera Avenue and Font Blvd. should remain alert for the presence of construction vehicles in the area and obey the directions of flagpersons and traffic monitors.

Specific construction activity dates are subject to change during the course of construction

The project extends campus utilities and relocates a sanitary sewer and storm drain line. Construction takes place in the southwest corner of campus: south of the Village, north and south of Humanities, and along portions of Font Boulevard, Tapia Drive, and Lake Merced Boulevard. This is in preparation for the future building of a Creative Arts Center, part of the SF State campus master plan. See http://www.sfsumasterplan.org/

The project installs utility lines that provide electric power, heating hot water, domestic and fire protection water, gas, and telecommunications, and relocates a sanitary sewer and storm drain line. The lines are to be installed incrementally to minimize disruption.
