Scope of work |
- The Lakeview Center was transferred from the Department of Education to SF State with a backlog of deferred maintenance. Built in 1955, the facility is not in compliance with current building codes or with ADA requirements; there is no elevator access to the second floor. It has significant dry rot and all building systems require major upgrades including the structure itself.
- The 8,000-gross-square-foot project will provide a new facility to house the following uses:
- Child center for infants, toddlers, and pre-schoolers including built-in cabinet storage, sinks, cot storage, adult and child restrooms; large motor room for inclement weather; parent lounge, library, and resource room; health/nurse room; curriculum lab/work room; observation room; testing room/private conference center; administrative offices; and support space.
- The factory built, modular construction will use a “Green” building specification to maximize the use of products that have a high recycled or sustainable content and keep energy costs low.
