Media, Distribution and Support provides all of the audio-visual services to SFSU classes. Our office is open late for evening classes and we do not close for lunch.
We provide a database of all general use classrooms at SFSU. The database includes a table of equipment installed in the room and iincludes the room capacity.
All electronic classrooms were designed, built, installed and maintained by Academic Technology's Learning Spaces (Technical Services) team. Our office provides individualized training and our web site features a dedicated page with descriptions outlining the features of these classrooms, PDF instruction manuals and online Quicktime tutorials. Every console has a sticker with our telephone numbers when you need help.
We also provide a cablecast service for viewing our media in your classroom. Technical Services ran the cable and set up the distribution system to every classroom on this campus. Academic Technology's Media Services department has purchased one of the largest media collections in the CSU system for you to use.
Our office maintains a collection of equipment for faculty to use in class. Every piece of equipment gets checked and cleaned before it goes back on the shelf for the next use. Does your department have an AV equipment pool (overheads and slide projectors shared by the members of your department)? Some of that is on long loan from us. Our web site provides tutorials for using many types of audio-visual equipment from overhead and slide projectors to laptops, projection systems and camcorders.
