The single biggest problem laptop users have is understanding what mirroring is and how to turn it on. Mirroring is when the image from a laptop is displayed on the laptop screen and also through a projector. If you turn on the projector first, connect it to the laptop and turn on the laptop LAST, most laptops will do this automatically. However, that is not always the case. On most Windows laptops, there is a key combination to activate mirroring. It involves pressing the "Function" key (labeled" fn") and usually located in the lower left of the keyboard plus some other key. |

According to thinkmobile.com, there are 52 laptop manufacturers. Each manufacturer can produce multiple product lines (example: IBM makes 6 different laptop designs). Most manufacturers use the same key combination on all their product lines, but that is not always the case. Before you need it, learn this key combination. Look on the keyboard for a key (most likely in the top row) that is either marked with the letters "LCD/CRT" or a square monitor icon. Press the "fn" key in the lower left corner of the keyboard and then the key to activate the mirroring function. There are three settings: Laptop Screen only | Projector only | Both PLEASE NOTE: We have found that some laptops will not mirror. They have video cards that will only support the laptop screen or an external monitor but not BOTH. If your laptop's image flickers through the projector, you will have to turn off the laptop image and view only through the projector. |
