Electronically Enhanced Classrooms
Before you use the classrooms, we recommend you read through our Console Primer.
Tips, hints and instructions for laptop users.
Special note for all laptop users: if the projected computer image is cut off on the left side of the screen, use the AUTO IMAGE/AUTO PC ADJUST button on the projector control box BEFORE you open your web browser or PowerPoint presentation.

Faculty assigned to these rooms should carefully read the manuals available online and arrange for a training. We cannot stress enough the importance of reading the manual and familiarizing yourself with the equipment before the semester starts. Training is done on an individual basis and takes about 45 minutes.

For an appointment for training on the use of these consoles please call Laurie Sosna at 338-1492 or use the e-mail form.

These consoles provide you with access to a video/data projector, VCR/DVD player, cablecast reception, a sound system (some have microphones), an interface to hook your laptop (or one of ours) to the video projector and an instruction manual. Some consoles have a video overhead (for opaque materials as well as transparencies).

Over the years, we have refined these consoles, streamlining the controls and layout. Therefore, we have several configurations, sometimes in the same building. Some consoles require a KEYPAD CODE to access locked areas (see notes on linked pages). Call AV at 81494 for access information.

The links in the table below will take you to a description page outlining the features of the classroom with photos of the console or its basic elements, the color instruction manual and a tutorial with Quicktime movies.

Special note for faculty using classrooms with wireless microphones:

Please be aware that many faculty use these classrooms during each day.
It is very important that you recharge the battery pack for the wireless microphone.
Please plug it back into the charger cord after each use.

REPORTING PROBLEMS:

Call our office at 81494.

We understand that it is difficult to deal with unfamiliar equipment while your class is in session. Be patient with us and we will get you the help you need.

Let us know who you are, what classroom you're in and the problem with as much detail as you can give us. Sometimes we can help you over the phone or we will send out someone as quickly as we can. On rare occasions we may need to wait until the classroom has been vacated to fix the problem.
