Cablecast Information

Any media in our collection (16mm, videocassette, laser disc or DVD) can be broadcast through our campus-wide cable system to be viewed in your classroom for regularly scheduled classes.
We can also broadcast any 1/2" VHS videocassette, laser disc or DVD from a faculty member's personal collection.
We can also broadcast international format VHS tapes in PAL or SECAM.
We cannot broadcast 3/4" videocassettes or 8mm film.
Check our on-line classroom database to make sure your classroom has a TV or Video Projector installed. If not, check one out from AV.

• Please note: We have different forms for AV Media and Faculty Media. Please let us know what your needs are and we will get you the appropriate forms.
• Forms are available at the AT Service Desk or online (please read the instructions page).
• We can process one request over the phone, but not multiple showings or multiple requests.
• Occasionally, media will be kept out by another faculty past it's return date. We will try to get it back in time, but we cannot be held responsible for late returns. Please call 81494 to reschedule your cablecast. DO NOT call 15103. That number is reserved for starting broadcasts only.
• If the media is your personal copy, do not leave it the Center for more than a week. We have a limited amount of space to store the media.

We have Closed Caption Decoders on 1 laserdisc/DVD channel and 5 videocassette channels. We cannot guarantee that closed captioning has been encoded on the media. We will test any media ahead of time at your request.
