In 1942 the Tanforan Racetrack near San Francisco became an assembly center for thousands of Japanese Americans who lived in stables for months while more permanent " relocation centers " were built. In this video ex-internees explain the hards hips and losses they endured, and new social systems developed to deal with their forced relocation. Director Dianne Fukami; host Jan Yanehiro.
