Offon / Moon / 1970

Video Cassette - 54 minutes - Color - 1987

Three visual metaphors composed by filmmaker Scott Bartlett: Offon (1967, 9 minutes) combines television, photographic techniques and an electronic music sound track to depict man’s release through his senses to his soul. Sound by Tom Dewitt. See also AV # 1360. Moon (1969, 14 min.) completed months before the first moon landing, describes the moon’s metamorphosis from mystical lunacy to real estate. 1970 (1972, 30 min) juxtaposes Bartlett’s personal experiences in 1970, including the birth of his son, with the ephemeral promises of the larger culture.
