This three-part series by Adrian Cowell chronicles thirty years in the histories of three indigenous peoples in the Amazon River basin of Brazil: the Panara, the Uru Eu Wau Wau and the Ava-Canoeiro. In 1983 four Ava-Canoeiro people, survivors of a massac re 20 years before, came out of hiding. This video follows the efforts of the Department for Unknown peoples in Brasils Indian Agency to contact other Ava-Canoeiro, in hopes of saving this group from extinction.
