This collection of short features surveys archaeological excavations and museums to describe the cultural history of ancient Macedonia in northern Greece, accenting the reigns of Philip II and Alexander the Great. Part 1 looks at Aina the birthplace of t he Macedonians; part 2 studies Aiges (Vergina) the necropolis of the Macedonian kings; part 3 profiles Dion, the holy city of the Macedonians and lastly part 4 explores Pella, the capital of ancient Macedonia.
