In this Science Television production Dr. David Hoffman introduces the basic analysis and geometry used in the mathematical study of minimal surfaces, and the computer techniques used in discovering whole families of constant mean surfaces. Hoffman also highlights recent applications of this form of mathematical analysis in polymer physics - specifically, the study of block copolymers.
