To introduce viewers to understanding and using the Internet, these two PBS programs first review the history of the Internet through profiles of Paul Baran (the grandfather of the Internet), Vinton Cerf, Marc Andreessen and Ian Wojtowicz. Ti m Berners-Lee, who created the World Wide Web, is also studied; current users are then profiled, and M. I. T. security expert Jeff Schiller is interviewed.
