This compelling, nine and a half hour history of the Holocaust by Claude Lanzmann combines testimony from death camp survivors, Nazi functionaries and others, with footage shot at Auschiwtz, Chelmno, Treblinka and other locations to detail both the annih ilation of a people and the strength of those who survived. The third tape returns Simon Srebnik to the village church where Jews were held before extermination in Chelmno, and ends at the Auschwitz museum.
