This video, based on the work of anthropologist Jaques Lizot, profiles life among the Yanomami people in the Amazon rainforest. Two villages try to reconcile past differences with a great feast; a young woman, living in a rival village, sees her family f or the first time in 10 years; Yamomai shamans use hallucinogenics to commune with the spirit world, fight modern diseases with traditional remedies, and oversee the preparation of ashes of the dead for consumption by their loved ones.
