Montanari, Jr., used official documents and court records to recreate the anti-Japanese sentiment and politically charged atmosphere of the 1940’s in the United States which surrounded Los Angeles-born Japanese-American Iva Togur i, convicted of treason for broadcasting on Radio Tokyo during World War II as "Tokyo Rose".
