This documentary by Trix Betlam profiles Gabriela, a coalition of women’s groups in the Philippines named for 18th century Filipina nationalist Gabriela Silans. This mass organization of nuns, students, professionals, farm and factory workers proved important in the overthrow of the Marcos regime, and in subsequent Philippine politics. Gabriela chairperson Sister Mary John Mananzan also speaks about the organization and its goals.
