Filmmaker Diane Kitchen lived among the Ashaninka in the Amazon rainforest of eastern Peru to make this award-winning chronicle of the everyday lives of a people who steadily resist acculturation into the modern world. Women’s roles, activities and feelings are particularly accented in the production.
