This four-part series examines statistical methodology and scientific uses for statistics. The second part of this series explains the difference between qualitative and quantitative data, different kinds of charts, summary measures, characteristic value s, the mode, median and mean. Methods for handing the spread of distribution are also presented. Practical exercises are included in the presentation, which was produced and directed by Steve Collier for the University of Sheffield.
