Epic saga of Kwakiutl Indian life in the Pacific Northwest, filmed in 1914 by Edward S. Curtis. Includes - along with an enacted narrative - sequences showing the long dance-dramas associated with the traditional potlatch ceremony. Originally produced fo r theatrical release, the film has been restored and re-edited, and a soundtrack added in which the spoken sections, singing, chants, and music are all Kwakiutl.
