In 1900 Edward S. Curtis began to document traditional Native American life, creating tens of thousands of photographs, recordings and a full length ethnographic film, "In the Land of the War Canoes" (AV # 84522). This program examines at his lif e and legacy - including comments by descendants of the Hopi, Navajo, Eskimo, Blackfoot and other native peoples whom Curtis photographed on what the images mean to them.
