In 1972 Jan Wong came to China as an avowed Maoist; in 1999 she traveled as a tourist to chronicle visits to old friends from her days at Bejing University, street life and business in China’s cities, the impact of Internet access, new attitudes on sexuality, and a stop at Tiananmen Square, 10 years after.
