Ida B. Wells, teacher, journalist, and life-long crusader against racism and sexism in America, is profiled in William Greaves’ documentary. Having herself been born into slavery in a small Mississippi town, Wells called upon people of conscience to bring moral, political, and economic pressures to bear against the evils she identified.
