This documentary by St. Clair Bourne profiles Amiri Baraka (Leroi Jones), writer and, since the 1950’s, major spokesman for the American black consciousness movement. Follows Baraka’s activities during the two weeks before his trial on charges of resisting arrest. He is seen at home with his family, teaching, hosting his radio program, reading his poetry, and speaking at an anti-apartheid rally.
