Wallpaper Patterns in Different Geometries

Video Cassette - 55 minutes - Color - 1991

Rotating, translating or reflecting a given motif, producing a tessellation of the Euclidean plane, is the mathematical description of wallpaper patterns. In this videotape Alan Beardon describes pattern symmetries that can be constructed in both non-Euc lidean, hyperbolic geometry and spherical geometry - and how these geometries affect the patterns.
