In May 2006 sulphurous mud began flowing from cracks around an exploratory oil well drilled by PT Lapindo Brantas in the Sidoarjo area of East Java, Indonesia. This mud volcano has now spewed well over a billion cubic feet of muddy water into homes, farm s and shrimp ponds in an ever widening area. This video reviews how the Lapindo mud flow began, the destruction it has caused and the attempts to stop the flow - all of which, to date, have failed. Filmmaker Marcel Hartwan; narrator Chris Kent.
