In this HBO documentary director Spike Lee guides viewers through the Hurricane Katrina disaster that devastated New Orleans in August 2005. In Act 3 the residents begin to deal with the disaster amid mounting anger at the slow response by the federal go vernment. Starting with Mardi Gras 2006, Act 4 surveys debris removal, lawsuits and the people who are rebuilding New Orleans.
