This six-part series surveys animal life after the extinction of the dinosaurs. On this DVD: 1. New Dawn - in the Cenozoic period, reconstructs the lives of the six foot carnivorous bird Gastomis, the small mammal Leptictidium, lemur-like Godinotia and the whale predecessor Ambulocetus. 2. Whale Killer - visits the late Eocene and the early whale Basilosaurus, the mammal predator Andrewarchus, the early monkey Aidium and a herd of Emboltherium. 3. Land of Giants - focuses on a female indricotherium, a giant hornless rhinoceros of the late Oligocene era. 4. Next of Kin - investigates an Australopithecus tribe in the Great Rift Valley during the Pliocene era, 3.2 million years ago. 5. Sabre-tooth - shows some of the species in the Americas during the early Pleistocene, including the sabre toothed cat Smilodon, the armored glyptodont, the litoptern and the giant ground sloth Megatherium. 6.
