This landmark television miniseries follows the saga of a black family from Kunta Kinte, a black man kidnapped from Africa in 1767, to his modern descendant in the United States - author Alex Haley. Kunta Kinte is crippled by slave catchers in part three , but he also marries and fathers a daughter named Kizzy - Mandinka for "stay put". Episode directed by Marvin J.
