In rural post-Civil War Spain young girl escapes the harshness of the country and of her stepfather by wandering into an imaginary world of fauns and faeries. Imagination also has its dangers, though, and Ofelia must join in a brutal battle between Good and Evil in this adult-oriented fairy tale.
