Expert performances at the Kabuki-za Theatre in Tokyo of traditional Japanese kabuki plays are shown in this series. Two of the greatest plays in the kabuki juchachiban - the 18 greatest plays - are shown here; in "The Whisker Tweezers" (86 min.) a young man uses observation and deduction to exorcise the demons at a haunted mansion and to win a princess. In "Narukami the Priest" (73 min.) a princess seduces a priest, to free the rain demons he has captured and end a drought. This second play recorded in black and white.
